OBD Testing

2013 and newer diesel engines

This test is done by connecting our CARB approved software to the computer of your engine and scanning all emissions related systems on your engine. Your results are then instantly sent to CARB.

According to CARB, the OBD system purpose is:

Monitors the effectiveness of the Emission Control Systems (ECS)
Identifies ECS in need of repair
Notifies driver when problems occur
Helps technicians diagnose and repair
Encourages the design of robust and durable ECS

OVI Testing

2012 and older diesel engines

This test is done in 2 parts. First, is collecting engine information and a visual inspection to confirm all required emissions equipment is properly installed. Second, a meter is placed on the exhaust to confirm that the opacity level is within legal limits. The test is submitted to CARB by the end of the same day.
